Annie: what was trench warfare though?
Ekla: they built trenches so that they wouldn't get hit by artillery because it was a war of attrition and it was the race to the sea and shit like that
Annie: so they dug in the ground?
Ella: well yeah
Annie: and they lived there?
Ella: yeah
Annie: did they make it like homely? Like sweet if they lived there and like beds and stuff
Ella: well it was a war so I doubt it would be too comfortable
